Original vs Remake #15

Here is a true classic in the rock music world "Spirit in the Sky" and its original version with Norman Greenbaum.   The original hit #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold 2 million copies while he reached #1 in the UK for 2 weeks.





The most successful remake was in 1986 by the London psychedelic band  Doc and The Medics. They also reached #1 in the UK and stayed there for 3 weeks.

From August of 1968 here are The Amboy Dukes.  Founded and led by guitar legend Ted Nugent with John Farmer on vocals,  this was their only charting single.
