Album Spotlight
This week we turn the spotlight on one of the legendary groups of heavy metal rock n roll, Black Sabbath and their classic album Paranoid.
Released in September of 1970 this was their only album to top the UK album charts, spending one week at the #1 in October of 1970. It replaced and then was itself replaced at the top by Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water.
Paranoid made it to #12 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart and has sold over 4 million copies in the United States.
This is considered the "magum opus" for Black Sabbath and includes their 3 biggest selling singles in "Iron Man", "War Pigs" and of course the title track "Paranoid".
Oddly enough the song "Iron Man" was awarded the Grammy for Best Metal Performance in 2000, 30 years after its release.
