Contains the #1 single "Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love)", which spent 6 consecutive weeks at the top of Billboard's country songs chart.

"Waylon and Willie" Goes Platinum


April 11th 1978
The album "Waylon and Willie" by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson is certified platinum for sales of 1 million copies.  The album released in January of 1978, spent 10 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Country chart and peaked at #12 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

The single "Mommas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" spent 4 weeks in March at #1 on the Billboard country chart and reached only #42 on the Hot 100 in 1978.

The duo also won the Grammy in 1979 for "Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals"
