#1 Song of the Week

This week our #1 is "Babe" by Styx.

From December of 1979 and it spent 2 weeks at #1.  Originally not part of the album "Cornerstone" ,the other band members convinced Dennis Deyoung to add it to the demo of the album.   Tommy Shaw then added the guitar solo and this went on to be Styx first and to date only #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.  It also helped send the album to #2 on the Billboard album chart.
