WE LOVE THE 60s

August 30th 1975
The Rolling Stones spend their 2nd of 4 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Honky Tonk Women".  
This would be the #4 song on the Year End Billboard Top 100 songs.

Johnny Cash in the midst of a monster year with his song "A Boy Named Sue" and the album "Live at San Quentin".  He reached #2 on the Hot 100, #1 on the Country and Easy Listening Chart.

Gold Record Wednesday


In the continuing celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones, here the first Gold Record they earned in 1964, The Rolling Stones (England's Newest Hitmakers).
This is their American debut and also the only Stones American studio album to not reach the top 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
It did however sell over 500,000 copies to get a gold album.

#1 Song of the Week

This week's #1 hit, "Jumping Jack Flash" topped the Cashbox countdown on  July 20th of 1968 for 1 week  and hit the top of the UK charts in late June for 2 weeks.
It also peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.for 3 consecutive weeks.   It was held out of the top spot for 2 weeks by "This Guy's in Love With You" by Herb Alpert at #1 and at #2 "The Horse" by Cliff Nobles and Co.   The 3rd week saw "Grazing in the Grass" by Hugh Masekela at #1 and "Lady Willpower" by Gary Puckett at #2.
