Billboard magazine is bringing back its Billboard Music Awards,which initially ran from 1989 to 2006. The resuscitated show will air on ABC on May 22nd, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The winners will be based on artists' chart performances, as well as their digital track and album sales, touring, streaming and social networking popularity. The eligibility period will run from February 28th of last year to March 1st of this year, with awards to be handed out in the categories of R&B, Rap, Rock, Pop, Country, Latin and Alternative.
