#1 Song of the Week

This week our song is "I Shot the Sheriff" by Eric Clapton.  
Today, September 19th 1974 Eric received a Gold record for this single which was his first and to date only #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.

This was the big hit from his #1 album 461 Ocean Boulevard which had just spent 4 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard album chart.
