The first #1 album on the Billboard 200 for this legendary soul/RB group from Ohio.
They had success in the early sixties with hits like "This Old Heart of Mine", "Twist and Shout" and then the #2 smash in 1969 "Its Your Thing".
The 70s saw their biggest R&B success and then they hit the top of the album chart for the first time with "The Heat is On" and this weeks #6 song "Fight the Power, Part I" which peaked at #4.
This would be their last #1 Pop album until 2003 when they topped the 200 with
Body Kiss for one week.
