One of the biggest selling and most successful albums in the history of the Billboard album chart. Spending 15 weeks at #1 makes it the most weeks at the top for a solo female artist and ranks second all time for a solo artist.
In July 1995 the album was awarded by the RIAA the Diamond award for sales of 10 million in the US and has sold over 25 million copies worldwide.
Carole King would win 4 Grammy awards for her work on Tapestry, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for "Its Too Late" and Song of the Year for "You've Got a Friend".
