The sixth studio album released by the group and the first without founding member Randy Meisner, who was replaced by Timothy B. Schmidt. The album debuted at #2 October 20th 1979 and then stayed there until knocking Led Zeppelin's In Through the Out Door from the top spot after 7 weeks at #1. Three singles were released from the album including this weeks #2 next week's #1 song "Heartache Tonight" , the #8 hit "I Can't Tell You Why" and the #7 title track "The Long Run".
