
Today in 1975 Alice Cooper was awarded a Gold Record for his first "solo" LP "Welcome To My Nightmare". Released in February 1975 the album peaked on the Billboard Album chart at #5 the week of June 21st.
Previous Alice Cooper LPs were band efforts but this time it was just Alice and several studio musicians putting it together.
He released 3 singles off the album, Department of Youth (which peaked on the Hot 100 at #67), the title track which made it to #45 and "Only Women Bleed" which made it to #12.
