Today in 1989 the ACM held its annual awards ceremony from Knott's Berry Farm in California. The host were Patrick Duffy, KT Oslin and George Strait.
The major awards handed out were:
Album of the Year - Killin' Time - Clint Black
Entertainer of the Year - George Strait
Female Vocalist of the Year - Kathy Mattea
Song of the Year (writers) - Where've You Been - Kathy Mattea
Male Vocalist of the Year - Clint Black
Single of the Year - A Better Man - Clint Black
Video of the Year - There's A Tear in My Beer - Hank Williams Jr.
New Duet or Band of the Year - Kentucky Headhunters
