Justin Bieber Scores #1 Album, Youngest Male Solo Artist To Do It Since '63
It truly is Justin Bieber's "World." The teen sensation's sophomore album, My World 2.0, has debuted at #1 on the Billboard album chart with first week sales of 283 thousand copies, according to Nielsen Soundscan. That makes Justin the youngest male solo act to score a #1 album since 1963, when a then-13-year-old Stevie Wonder pulled off the same feat.
But that's not all. Justin's first album, My World, is currently at #5 on the chart. That makes the Canadian singer the first act to have two Billboard top-five albums at the same time since Nelly did it in 2004 with his two albums, Suit and Sweat. But those Nelly albums were released on the same day -- Justin's albums came out four months apart.
Elsewhere on the chart, Still Standing, the new album by Monica, debuts at #3, while Now! That's What I Call Music Vol. 33 is in at #3.
