Happy Birthday to Tommy James, leader of the Shondells. Born this day in 1947.
He had 2 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, "Hanky Panky" in July of 1966 and "Crimson and Clover" in Feb. on 1969.


1990 - Floyd Butler of The Friends of Distinction, died of a heart attack at the age of 49. Had the US No.3 single ‘Grazing In The Grass’ in 1969.


1928 -Birthday- Carl Gardner, The Coasters, (1958 US No.1 single 'Yakety Yak', 1959 US No.2 and UK No.6 single 'Charlie Brown').


1931 - birthday -Lonnie Donegan, singer who launched the skiffle craze. He had a 1960 UK No.1 single with ‘My Old Man’s A Dustman’, plus over 30 other UK Top 40 singles. He died on November 3rd 2002.
