Today March 18th is the 72nd birthday of country legend Charley Pride.
"Kiss An Angel Good Morning", released in 1971,became Charley's biggest single and helped him win the Country Music Association's Top Male Vocalist for 1971 and 1972. He also won the CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1971.
He took "Kiss An Angel" to #1 on the Billboard Country chart for 5 weeks in late 71 and early 72 and got his only Pop Top 40 hit with "Angel" reaching #21.
