Hurricane Smith

Two years ago today Norman "Hurricane" Smith died at the age of 85. Originally famed for being the engineer on all the Beatles recordings up to 1965 with the last one being "Rubber Soul".
He was promoted to producer after that album, but he still was a part time singer/songwriter and in 1973 his work paid off with the big hit "Oh Babe, What Would You Say?". Reaching #1 on the Cashbox top 40 and #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in Feb of 1973. It would be his only true success on the performing side of the recording studio.
