Today in Grammy History

Today in 1983 the 25th annual Grammy Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles California.
This would be a big night for the group Toto and country legend Willie Nelson. Toto would walk away with the Album of the Year for Toto IV and Record of the Year "Rosanna"

The success of "Rosanna" reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July of 1982 helped garner the Grammys but that in turn helped their 2nd single "Africa" reach the #1 spot earlier in February of 1983.

The Song of the Year award (for songwriters) went to Willie Nelson's "Always on My Mind" written by Johnny Christopher, Mark James and Wayne Carson.

This song also helped Willie Nelson win Best Country Vocal Performance Male and also the Grammy for Best Country Song.
